What is Rotary?
Rotary International is the world's first service club organization. Its more than 1.2 million members volunteer their time and talent to further the Rotary motto, Service Above Self.

From a more grass roots perspective, it is a worldwide collection of clubs made up of a number of people just like yourself. These clubs hold weekly meetings for fun and fellowship and to discuss and organise community service activities that build goodwill and peace in the world.
A helping hand
With such a simple structure Rotary with the help of a number of other orginisations has been able to almost entirely eradicate Polio from the face of the Earth through it's Polio Plus immunization program. If you're asking 'what is polio?' then you should be thanking Rotary because with 1000 children being infected in 125 countries around the globe in the 1980's you can be sure you would have known someone that would have contracted the potentially fatal disease.
